A couple of questions regarding spotties and lights generally as I prepare for the Xmas trip around WA.
I have a Nissan Patrol that came fitted with the IPF lights that were being fitted for "free" by the Dealers at the time. I have a set of Hella 4000's off the last 4WD that are in a box in the shed. I have not had a chance to drive in a suitably dark place to really evaluate the IPF's but am I right in expecting that the 4000 is going to be the better of the two lights that I have to use.
Secondly, I'm an awful long way from an ARB or similar
shop and I have been researching lights through the archives [second in subjects number and only beaten by "tyre choice" I reckon] and I keep reading about fitting aftermarket lighting looms.
If I was to get a loom what is the brand of choice and what should I expect to pay for it and is fitting it something that any numbskull [that would be me] can do or do I have to get someone else to do it for me. In other words is it a simple case of unplug what is there and replace it with the right part of the loom or is it a bit more than that?

I have a set of IPF's on my patrol as
well. They will be thrown as soon as I can afford a new set of Lightforce 240's.
Your Hellas are a better option.
I found the factory fitted Spotty loom works OK.

the hella 4000 great light , but do not overtighten the light adjusting bolts (big plastic heads) they will earth out your individual light when u dont want them to (shorten bolts ,2mm ) prob solved now u can tighten them so no hands can undo seen this several times , also they do not seal 2
well ,but that can B fixed also with a bit of silicon if your takin it swimin , u can get brighter bulbs 4 them as
well great lights if u wanna see where u goin put them on as
