Hi All,
Just a quick post to get some opinions or experiences. A workmate is selling a 2000 model prado privately and was just knocked back for a roadworthy (inspected by RACQ) as the bullbar obstructed the front indicators. The bar is a standard TJM chrome job that was fitted when the vechile was picked as new from the Toyota dealer. TJM say they will have a look at it but the bar was built to ADRs so it should be a problem, any similar experiences or knowledge of where to go next.
Thanks Matt

Try elsewhere for roady.
but its up to TJM... if it doesnt pass they either replace or fix free of charge, or report them.

In Qld it is illegal to "Go elsewhere" for a fixed period of time ,30 days I think? You may be able to go to the Transport dept for a difinitive ruling? If it is the correct bar for the vehicle then TJM should fix it.

Sounds like the work of the Oryctolagus Cunniculus. Maybe they wanted to sell you something or were just plain PITA's, either way the T-man is right go elsewhere.

Them big word simply mean that the roadworthyer is taking a literal view of the roadworthy laws as they see them just because they can. That makes them a rabbit in my book hence the oryctolagal referenceLaterally Literal

Tjm have examined the bar and found that it was not damaged or modified therefore it meets ADRs and supplied certification to this effect. Anyway the vehicle is of to a different inspection station today so we will see what happens.
Cheers Matt

Great to see tjm gave the relevant back up so quickly, I am only familiar with vic roady laws, when i was doing them any vehicle with a front bar with the auxiliarry indicators built in and operating was sweet. With the paperwork stating adr compliance you shouldn't have any dramas. Give the inspection place a copy for their records as
well.Moo... everyone knows what a Jackaroo looks like :-)

If it blocks the indicators then it is illegal everywhere. Doesn't matter what TJM say.
If you can't see the indicators what is the point in having them.
I think this a basic safety issue. There used to be a lot of non-complying stuff around that got fitted until people got caught out.
