Can anyone advise if they have found a way to stop the dash vibration in the Prado. It recently got to the stage that the wife would hold onto the Dash when on corigations or similar. We actually thought that at times it would come of its mounts!!BEAR

Its obvious the screws that hold the dash to the body have come loose or dropped out and you have probably guessed that the only way to fix it is to tighten them all up.Thats where the fun begins because on vehicles made after the mid 80s dashboards became incredibly complex and jam packed full of hard ware. For example the biggest job in the manual for a 85 falcon or commodore is removing and reinstalling the dash.Ive heard of labour quotes from auto electricians and aircon guys that run into days at $50 an hour with no guarantee that every little squeak and rattle will be gone.
The only thing you can do is lay upside down on the floor and tighten anything that is reachable. If that doesnt work you can only get quotes from someone who maybe helpfull.Generally auto aircon technicians are the best as they often repair the ducting that goes to the vents.

When you put it back together spray silicon spray on the back parts to stop rubbing.
