Hello Again....
Another question as I start my collection of parts to "pimp my ride" before the cooler outback travel season begins.
I'm in the market for some new springs of about 30-50mm lift. Nothing too hardcore.
King springs...I've heard of, but Dobinsons are offering an attractive alternative. Has anyone ever used this brand? Are they any good?
BTW.... the Pajero io build up is coming along very nicely and I hope to post some pics once it's all done.
Fab.

Fab,
Nothing wrong with Dobinson springs. They have been making springs since the 1950's. I believe you will find that Kings and Dobinson's make many of the kits for other retailers marketed under different names.
I have used them with no problems as have others I know.
Have a good one,
RA.

Thanks Rockape.
I think you hit the nail on the head. There are so many differenet brands of springs out there, but not so many spring manuafctures. Dobinsons, I'm lead to believe, make their own springs and hence warrant them directly.

Hi Fab,
I have used both and currently using Dobinson's on my Landcruiser, both manufactures make very good springs. I'd go for the best deal.

Ken

G'Day Ken,
The best deal is actually on the King Springs set. Individually they are almost dollar for dollar, but Kings are offering a pretty good price if you buy a set of four springs (save about $80) compared with individual pricing for a front set and rear set.
I was just concerned that cheap meant cheap, if you catch my drift.
My only previous exposure to springs has been with Peddars, and it's usually reducing clearance, not going the other way.
Cheers...Fab.

Hi Fab,
I believe both manufactures make great springs, top quality. As for King Springs a lot of the V8 teams use them that says a lot about their product. I have had King's on 4 different 4WD's and Dobinson's on my current vehicle. Most suppliers and manufacturers run promos from time to time this does not mean they are selling and inferior product. I am sure you will be happy with either manufacturers product.
Regards
Ken

I had Dobinsons leaves on my 1st landcruiser and it had sagged no more than 10mm in 6 years until I sold it and it covered a lot of rough ground.
I have again used Dobs on my current landcruiser

Thanks Desray...I had a look at their pricing for Dobinsons springs...Yikes!!!!
$330 a pair when I can get a set of four Kings for $250.
I think at their price , they can keep them.
Cheers ...have bookmarked their page for browsing later on.
