Guys: I am looking at the
Kangaroo Creek Imports (KCI) 12v 2000kg lift. Could anybody with one or who has used one, please give me their thoughts on this product as to its suitability for the safe and efficient lifting of a Paj for a quick wheel change? Has anybody used it for changing campertrailer wheels? Full retail is around $255 – does anybody have knowledge of a discount source for the item?
Thanks.

I brought a 2000 kg 12v scissor jack from Aldi for $99, jacked up my camper and MU ok.

My boyfriend in law also got one and it lifted the GU easily. Just make sure that you lift straight and only as high as you need to otherwise topple overs may happen.

I was given an Aldi model for Christmas and have used it. It seems quite substantial and had no problem lifting a front wheel on my Prado (weight?) and also one wheel on my Karavan (1 tonne per wheel).
They are a heavy item to pack for touring, though.

Gordon,
If you do lots of wheel changes around
home etc then consider a floor jack which is safer and more versatile. My problem is about relying on a 12v device out bush. I would always want to carry a backup jack as Mr Murphy watches me like a hawk. That would make 3 jacks - electric, hydraulic/mechanical, hi-lift.
If you travel with plenty of space or multiple vehicles then they are probably a nice labour saving device.
cheers

Has a very narrow footprint so I'd be very wary of using it on anything but hard level ground with an axle stand.
