Has anyone fitted drawers in a prado? (2001) Obviously we wouldn't be able to use the back seats but there's only 3 of us so thats not a problem.

Hi Emma
It is not a problem, as all the pre made units are made to suite an individual vehicles, and yes the rear 7th seats must be removed. There are many good makes on the market and I have only used Black Widow. I had them in my 1998 Pajero and now have Black Widow in my 120 Series Prado. Ours have handled the toughest of outback conditions, from the Gunbarrel, Anne Beadel both of which are known for their corrugations and many other outback trips.
Good quality draws are a real investment to your vehicles and for me it would be always to up there to the to add list of any new vehicle, but like they say each to their own.
Now comes the hard part for you to choose what takes your fancy.
Happy Shopping
Cheers
Stephen

As said above there are quite a few available off the shelf to fit the 90 series Prado. We had Black Widow drawers in our 2001 Prado and they were great. We have transferred them across to our new Prado. Some of the manufacturers are

And I'm sure there are others.

Always a good idea to compare weight and price (value).
Also ensure the unit has a proper roller bearing system. By roller bearings I mean steel rails running through sealed roller bearings, not "full extension rails" like those used in fridge slides; they are simply not robust enough to stand up to long term punsihment.
The other important consideration is installation. Some units have to be constructed in the car and takes hours to install or remove.

I ended putting Tanami aluminium drawers in my 120 series, mainly because the steel drawers weigh about the same as a small family
sedan!
You do pay a premium, but I can vouch for the quality.

I too fitted aluminium draws in my D40 to save on the weight as my storage unit takes up the entire tub. My storage unit includes a 70ltr
water tank, 2 x 110ah batteries, fridge slide and fridge, and two very large (1.2 metres long) drawers. There are also storage areas down both sides and room atop for the tent, chairs etc. This set up was made by
Off Road Systems. I've been across most of the Beadell track of outback Aus and there is no sign of any faults appearing.

Emma t. I have ORS in my Wrangler. Pictured in the link of the previous post. They build them into your vehicle about two hours fitting but this is a benefit to the final placement. individual finish, not pre made and poor finish. I chose the aluminium frame for weight. Very happy with the product.

Hi Terry
Does that mean you are selling? If so, how much do you want for them? Not sure if they would fit in ours or not, although they are probably much the same size. But I do know someone else with the 120 series who may be interested also.

I have black widow draws in my 90 series prado. I have an enclosed space on the left with a slide which will fit a 50l waeco. On the right I have two draws one short one tall stacked on top of each other. There is a small bay with a lid just behind the wheel arches. This comes to the height of the bottom drawere. This is a good spot to store loose gear like 12v power leads, recovery straps tie down straps etc. There is flat section over the wheel arches, and the dimensions of the flat section exactly match my 20l plastic jerry cans. There is a cargo barrier just forward of the drawers and I can store items like an axe and water hoses strpped to the barrier and between the barrier and the drawers. I also have a 50l
water tank between the 2nd row of seats and the cargo barrier. When touring we store food etc in plastiv boxes on top of the drawer unit. It is not perfect and you do lose some useful space, but it works for us.
