Take care as you may be here longer than you intent. The humidity hasn't been so heavy for many years, which indicates we could have more rain and rough weather conditions, including cyclones, than we have been experiencing. For those who are camping, we have been warned to be on the lookout as there are storms all this week and some they predict they will be severe. I am not a prophet of doom but hate to see peoples lives and much needed holidays ruined. Happy Holidaying Geoff & Jen

Nothing like the sound of rain on a canvas roof, it used to be common sound of Christmas when we were kids as we went camping for 6 weeks at this time of the year every year up until I was married in '76 and then Geoff took me camping every winter. I wonder why........more cosy.... or maybe less rain. Now we go every 2 years, if we are lucky, Tuff life :-) Jen

As they say, "Queensland - raining one day, bleep istent rain the next."

My Jen and I went and saw Robbie Robbie Robbie (Williams) and she wants me to stay home for the holidays, work out, get a few tatts, and have my hair foiled. Reckon that I will go fishin instead. Maybe your Tropical storms have caused her to go Troppo.

Andrew, I would be worried about Jen, because Robbie came over here looking for a new wife as he wants to really settle down now. She'd better watch out, cos' if you eventually start looking like him, you might find yourself in a strip club up on stage advertising that you are looking for a new girl. LOL LOL Jen , could you imagine that???????? Andrew you might be better off going fishing, in full attire, take some fishing music, and get your mind off Robbie. They are looking for names for tropical cyclones, maybe you could suggest Jen's name. :-))))))

Now there's an idea GaryInOz........though on second thoughts one with a nickname Nannie, who wades through slimy ponds with a washing basket catching fish might not be my cup of tea.

Great to see that Geoff can type!! How's things mate??

No Andrew, Nannie would be strong of a brew for you, she's old, cold and going rusty. Have you looked amongst the cherry bushes for your Jen? Last I heard she was having a bit of bother with the wild life devouring the cherries. Jen

Things are great Andrew, I can type in bits, but as I sit in front of a computer all day at work, I tend to keep away from it when I come home. Hope you find Jen, afterall she is out of my hands, the one here is enough to handle. Geoff

Yes Brad, we need the rain, it creates more fun on the camp field to those who know what they are doing. Other than that if campers, surfers, boaters, travellers, don't know how to deal with these conditions they had best stay home. Jen

Actually my 'excellent' ended up in the wrong place !! It was supposed to be a comment on Andrew's reasons for going fishing
:-)))))
Hopefully those on the land are getting some benefit from the rain.
Regards,
Brad.

It doesn't matter where your "excellent" ended up we both needed it. We need the rain as we live in the country and Andrew needs to go fishing as he seems live to a hard life. (not that I believe it) haha Jen

We never go camping not expecting rain.
BTW this year we will have spent 9 weeks (spread over the year) under canvas in many different areas while still working permanent full-time jobs.
Can anyone beat that.

How do others go??? Might be an interesting thread for someone to start?

Nah, can't beat that. Our record for copping rain everytime we've been camping since we bought the Camprite is perfect but our record for camping this year has been pathetic!

Collie River (5 days)
Nannup (5 days)
Busselton weekend
Wilbinga weekend
Holland Track & Cave Hill Woodlines (10 days)
Ningaloo (2 weeks)
Nanga weekend

Looking at this pathetic list I have made a solemn vow to do better this year.
