Hi All I am interested to hear from anyone who has one of these wavebox microwaves the specifations say that they deliver 660 watts of power on 240 volt and draw 55 amps on 12 volt but what i want to know is how many watts does it actually to run it on 240 volt as I want to run it of a 1000 watt generator would like to hear from anyone who has one of these waveboxes and has run it of a generator.

With microwave ovens as a general rule double the power of the magnetron for input power. 660W --1320W aprox 1000W generator would be overloaded.

thank you for your reply but i was actually hoping to hear from someone who owns one of these wavebox microwaves as they have been designed to run on 12 volt power as well as 240 volt I have since received a reply from the manufacturer and they say that the input wattage required is 720 watts and that it will run on a 1000 watt generator I was already aware that household type microwaves need nearly double the input wattage compared to there output wattage this is due to very inefficient magnetrons.
