Have been studying brochures of the Camprite trailers and am wondering how well the canvas seals against the trailer when erected to prevent mozzies sandflies etc as we have 2 small kids. Any comments welcome

We've got one. I reckon it's petty good. They are a couple of areas where there are some small gaps, mainly in the floor where unlikely that they'll come through anyway. Our kids are susceptible too, so we are right onto but ocassionaly they get in. I think you are more likely to let them in through the front door than anywhere else.....

The main thing to do is get the seller to erect the camper .
Then go over it with a fine tooth come, checking corners, and stitching.
Also check that the mesh in the flyscreens is really fine, as fly wire type is not good enuf out there.....Check out other campers too for fine insect screens. is Trak Shak and Kimberley Kamper's have fine insect screens, and tough ones too !

At night have a Yellow light, as it does not attract insects.
Just keep in mind that if yellow (insect light ) is all that is on, then you will have a few problems, with bugs. That's when you need a sacraficial white light on, some 20-30 mts away to attract the bugs there, and not to your yellow light.

Yellow Cellophane over a standard white light, is probably all you need !

We had an Adventure Camper Trailer, one night we found big ants crawling on us in the bed, luckily they seemed to be foraging types not biting types!

Our next camper (All Terrain Camper Trailer) was a lot better in that it didn't have any gaps between where the tent joined to the bed, instead it had zipped access to the trailers side compartments, it was great.

Certainly something worth paying attention to.
