Hi Guys, I have a starter motor for a 2004 4.8 Patrol its a Hitachi 23300VC201, S114-878A which needs a new armature and bush holder, its replacement (on the truck) now also needs a new bush holder. Anybody know where I can get the bush holder (complete with bushes) other than Nissan?

I found a place in Vic on ebay but they don't have one for this model of Hitachi although they do have new starter motors for $188 (from Nissan $800), they have the bush holders for other Hitachi motors for $19 but of course that doesn't help me.

If anybody knows where I can get the spare parts for the motor that would be great, especially if its on the gold coast or does internet/mail order.

Cheers!

Roy...

Pete, like Michael if it sounds too good it probably is (unknown origin), also 1/2 hour and $19 appeals to the engineer in me, hate to throw a perfectly good starter away for the sake of two poxy bushes. Also two sets and I have a spare starter motor and all under an hour in the garage :)

Pop,

Spoke to PJL but they didn't have any, they only do parts for diesel models. But they did put me onto Ashdown Ingram so I gave the Ashmore branch a call and they had a brush kit with the four brushes for $30, picked a kit up today and its going in tomorrow, should take me about 30mins, I'm getting good at stripping starters now LOL.

Thanks Pop that's a good save, much appreciated!

Roy, for any future Nissan parts.
Google nissan forums, there is a bloke in there called Nizzbits.
You will find him in the vendors section, he sells genuine Nissan parts at good prices.
And a great person to deal with as well.
Cheers.
