Hi Guys

Off on our first Big One. Heading off from WA on 30th March and starting our trip from Ceduna. Plan to travel West and East coast Eyre Peninsula taking around a month before heading back????? As NEW Grey Nomads we would like to hear of good Free camping spots ( Dogs allowed ) and things NOT to miss. We realise that school holidays are around this period?!?
Thanks

Hi Guys
well if you have a dog then most National Parks are out.
They are always good value for money, especially if you have a yearly Parks PAss

Hi Brian

Our favourite campsite was Lipson Cove just north of Tumby Bay - free with pit toilets and a nice beach to enjoy a swim, but noisy, as it is a tern breeding colony, so keep the dogs confined.Haslam ($5 honesty box) was beautiful, and there is similar at Baird Bay. We found other places for overnighters including along old roads which run roughly parallel to present roads. I have very brief blogs under my 2005 blogs with a few highlights and free/low cost camps shown. We were touring in January and were told the place would be packed out - it wasn't, and it was lovely.

At Port Lincoln try heading for the APEX grounds - they offer very a very cheap rate to camp there, I think it was $10 per night . They are really keen for the word to be passed on amongst caravanners that the site is available. It is close to Pt Lincoln with a very large level grassed area, for a little more you can even use their bathroom and toilet. Oh did I mention that they are fantastic people to chat to too!

Cheers

Coming in from Elliston , Sheringa , then Coles Point near Coulta , ( no facilities though ) turn right at Wangary and head to the Ledge , same no facilities . Fishery Bay ( near Whalers Way ) , has toilets . Plenty of caravan parks as well of course but unfortunately Coffin Bay is National Park and Lincoln National Park will be out because of the dog .
