G'day all, Planning on going up there some time soon. Just wondering if anyone has done this trek, I've heard you need good ground clearence. Do they mean landcruiser-patrol as apposed to vitara etc, Or do you need a good spring lift on a large 4by to get you through.

Baal Bone Gap is a good trip. There are some sensational
views over Wolgan Gap half way through the trek. There are a few spots that are slippery in the wet ands should be avoided as such. For the most I would say it is a relatively easy trek. I normally come in from the
Capertee end and make a trip of it by exiting through blackfellows hand rd and out to Bungleboori. I have a very standard GU 3lt Patrol that tends to sit a bit low in the rear with three kids and a 60lt Engel so a Vitara will easily make it. Just use common sense and don't go like a bull at a
gate and you will be fine.
Enjoy
Dave
