hello i have a leak in the front prop shaft where you would pump grease in via the nipple at the top of the shaft in by the pinion. i tried tapping the round disc back in but as soon as i pump grease in it gives again.
i have just replaced the front diff seal so i know it was empty before any suggestions can you buy a new disc or do i have to have the end welded.
thanks
gra

You need to drop the shaft, and in the end where the uni joint is there is a disc that seals the grease in. Over greasing can pop the disc out.
You maybe able to get a new one through spares, or sometimes the old one is in amoungest the grease behind the uni joint.

mcgra,
Have had this happen a couple of times, always from over greasing. Now only put a max of 5 pumps into that nipple.
From memory, a 38mm welsh plug will do the job, may need a little grinding for a perfect fit. If you have access to mig welder a couple of SMALL spotwelds will stop it falling out again - and less greasing too!
If its been out for a while, you might find the spline has worn quite a bit. Now it gets expensive!!!
Hooroo...
