Hi, I am hoping someone may be able to help me. I would like to know which is the positive and negative pins in the below socket on my Waeco Cooler.
Even if you could just
test you power lead and tell me which pin corresponds with the 12 cigarette lighter socket, eg; Pin on left (looking at front of Waeco) is center pin on cigarette lighter socket. I can't do this as I don't have the power cord, I bought the Cooler at a car boot sale today but with no cord.
I have everything I need here at
home to make a cord and plug up. I know I could pay the $30 and go buy one but it's a bit of fun making these things up yourself (plus I don't even know if the cooler works or not)...
Below is a
pic of the cooler
As you can see it is a CT-08-12
If anyone can help it would be really appreciated.
Thanks guys,
Chris

If the lead is similar to my CF35 then there will be small ridges running the length of the earth. The ridges are quite obvious when you look closely and compare it with the positive wire.
Cheers,

Sorry. I see that there is more below the picture. The positive is the centre contact on the cigar plug. As for the other end. If you hold the lead so that the plug that goes into the Waeco is facing away from you the positive appears to be on the left. At least that is the side with the wire that is not ribbed.
Hope this helps.

Oldpop - read his first post! He bought the cooler at a boot sale - WITHOUT ANY LEAD.
How can he
test it with a multimeter - if he doesn't have the lead???
Polaris.

Chris, looking at the socket on the fridge as in your photo, the pin on the left is the positive. This corresponds to the centre pin of the cigar plug.

Thanks for all your help guys, I'll make a cord today and see if it works.
Only paid $10 gor the fridge, apart from missing the cord it's like a brand new one.
