Im looking for a 12v/240 fridge. Are there any efficient fridges around that dont require a 2nd battery. What are the best options in this regard?

Mike:one of the trips i did around Oz with a personnel carrier i run a 39litre Engel(witch i still have)with the original battery as the only power source, about half an hour before the time we call it the day... i will cranck it up to freeze and when we pull up i will turn it off
it is a good idea to stick a remainder note on the dash ,after a while it become a rutine
cheers Joe

Mike, As you dont want tofit a second battery, you are best with the eutectic fridges such as the quirks. They freeze up a brine which can be left to sit for quite some time before requiring a top up. Do yourself a favour and have a temp guage fitted to minitor inside temp of the fridge. I run a 60 litre Engel for our tours etc, but you do need dual batteries to stay safe, especially in the tropics.
