hi all,
i've recently bought an old landrover, series 3, 1975, and i was trying to find some history about it. It is actually an old australia post vehicle......i've never seen or heard of a land rover being used as a post vehicle and i figure it would have quite a history. its a long wheel base, red troopie, and even came equipped with an old mailbag hahaha. if anyone knows anything about it, or where it may have been used, i'd be greatful.

I have an idea LR Aust keep a fairly good database of all vehicles.

Try there for starters with your VIN, they may be able to help or point you in the right direction.Fidei defensor

Landrover.
About that time australia post and telstra were the same co called the PMG. at the time and maybe still PMG was the biggest buyer of 4x4 in AUS. Linesmen and technicians all drove land rovers in country areas. Unfortunatelly the large workshop in dudley st melbourne is no more but at that time they had more landrover parts than rover did. I better stop before I start crying. Eric.

Have an Orange short wheel base 1974 series 3 at the farm that has reinforced diffs & axle assemblies. came that way not sure what they where doing with it but the old truck is still going with it's original 4 cylinder motor! Forestry commision also used lots of them which is where this one came from.
Happy hunting
