Review: Australia 4WD Raster Map Collection on DVD

My Shop Item Rating: My Rating 4/5

The product is very good, much better than the 2006 version. There is only one thing missing I can think of, and that is to have it as a downloadable product as well as the DVD.

You're not the only one to desire this as a download, however when you think about it, do you really want to download a file that is 5 gigabytes? DVD is still probably the best format for it.

Hello,

please excuse my ignorance, but how would I use the DVD.

We use paper maps for all of our travels. We have no idea of how to use any of the other "stuff" that is available.

If you could fill me in I'll know a bit more.

Regards,
Steve

Sure Steve,
The DVD is just the format for delivery of such a large file (the map is an image file stored on the DVD). You then put the DVD into your home computer and copy the file off the DVD to your computer.

The use of digital mapping is very commonplace and widespread - For more information, may I recommend that you view the articles we have provided on this topic in our Navigation section (as linked).

You can find your own way to the articles by using the blue site menu at the top, click on Topics, go to Navigation and browse through the various articles there.

Enjoy!

Thank you Michelle.

I'll have a read.
I usually end up getting distracted reading the blogs or forum and then I have to finish up.

Hoo roo,
