I think with all the "cheap"gear around these days, it's sometimes worth taking a chance. There's a 12000lb winch on Ebay for $274.00 (from memory). Reading another
forum where someone asked about them, like you did, and there were a lot of negative replies, but, one repsonse was from a fella who bought one, he pulled it apart and there wasn't enough grease in it. He regreased it and it has worked fine for 6 months or so.
I've bought bargains and they have worked fine and I often earn a carton here and there lending them to mates.
