Hi, just organising early part of our next trip. Can anybody tell me what the road from Goulburn thru Taralga Oberon to Bathurst is like. Will be towing 23'van.
Furthermore, any comments on the free camp at Flat Rock near O'Connell.
Thanks,
Ian

Hi Our daughter lives in Bathurst and we travel from Bomaderry on this road all the time .It is sealed all the way and we often pass vans on it.
The road going down to and up from Abercrombie River is steep but you should not have any problems.
There are two free camping areas at the river. Do not know any thing about Flat Rock

That road is tar all the way now and being relatively new was in good nick a few months ago. One winding steep section going down the the river crossing. I can't advise on how it affects your van because I travel light. Cheers

I've driven a truck with a 40ft trailer through there, so you shouldnt have a problem with a van.
Cheers Dave

Thanks Dave, ute and van only a whisker longer than your trailer. Look forward to seeing some different countryside.
