Well yes - I guess the description overlooks the obvious but good question - to which the answer is yes, the GPS within the unit provides speed readings.

FYI

Some GPS navigator applications also give you a profile display function, showing what speed, when it was and where it was. Like the profile display function for the track data in Oziexplorer.

Hello

The HN5i has three navigation programs, iGO, OziExplorerCe and Memory Map. Both iGO and OziExplorerCe show your speed on the map screen by default. I have not tried Memory Map as yet so can not say. The older HN5 had Route 66 which only showed your speed when you were navigating a route but it has been replaced with iGO on the new units. This program shows your speed whenever you have a Sat Fix (as does OziCe).
