Hi all. I just want to let everyone know that at 9.30am tomorrow my wife and I, in our car and caravan and my sister, in her car and caravan set off on what is hopefully a 9 month trip through most parts of this great land.
I hope to meet some fellow Exploroz members during our travels. Please look out for a Prado with the large 'Exploroz sticker' across the wind deflector of my roof basket.
Hope to see you on the road.
Mick

Thank you all for your replies so far. We have been planning this trip for a long time and I hope all the testing with week end trips has not worn out all my camping and electronic equipment.
Stephen we were planning leaving
Brisbane and travelling through NSW to
Broken Hill and through South Australia to Port Agusta and then up the
Darwin. Then across to
Broome and down the WA coast, with trips inland. Then follow the coast road
home.
However the rain in NT, SA and NSW has forced us to take the usual route from
Brisbane through
Charleville,
Longreach,
Cloncurry, Mt Isa to the three ways.
Malcolm Fraser said once 'Life wasn't meant to be easy.' But it is good to be flexable and have an area on the east side of this country where rain is not falling, for once.

Thanks escapesilv and kevmac
I have been reading about other members and visitors heading off for their big trip for about 4 years. Everyone has a turn, but it's just a bugger waiting for your own. Plan, prepare and be patient.
Thanks for your good wishes. I will keep the
forum updated as best as I can.

Hi Michael,
Fantastic-hope you are travelling well and enjoying the freedom. Hubby and I leave in 21 days and are in the process of packing up the house to rent and packing the camper. Having to say goodbye to family and friends is looming which I am not looking forward to. We are not grey nomads -that is a bit grey but not retired, but taking some time off work to consider our options for the last phase of our working lives. We can't wait to hit the first night and open the bottle of Moet that is keeping cold in the fridge!!

Hi Careen,
Think the Moet is a great idea, we might have to do the same. Do they do a small bottle as hubby does not drink bubbles he drinks top shelf whiskey instead. We too are off but only for 3 months but hopefully will help us to decide if our plan to travel and work will be feasible.

Hi Barb,
You are in luck, it does come in small bottles! On the other hand buy the big one and begin with a champagne breakfast!
Have fun, Carreen

To everyone who has replied
Thank you all very much for your good wishes. We are currently at
Stanthorpe and staying at the show grounds. The Apple and Grape festival is on at the moment and my wife and sister are looking forward to checking out all the craft stalls.
Doug T I will let you know when we are close to
Adelaide River, it would be an absolute pleasure for me to meet the author of so many great Sunday reads.
Mick
