I have to retract my promotion of the Tough Dog 4-way return-to-centre damper of a previous post. Having just fitted it, I have to say that it is nowhere near as good as my worn out Old Man Emu one. My housemate replaced his factory steering damper with the Tough Dog one and said in comparison it was great. However, the OME is much better again and provides much greater damping against bump steer...

I had the Tough dog return to centre fitted to my 4 Runner and was very happy with it , I found it made driving long distances easier on my arms and I did not have the wheel wip out of my hands on rockey ground , my 2 cents worthThis is not my car anymore

Hi,
I fitted a AC Delco steering damper on my 81 Cruiser with no frills like power steer & it works great. Its not that pretty yellow colour, but it only cost $70.
