Hi Everyone,

I was having an idle thought tonight about a small road trip from our home in Kalgoorlie to Kununurra..... it has now grown to a massive adventure to incorporate a lot more of WA and back through Alice, Uluru and possibly Warbuton. This will be our first real adventure with lots of opportunity of some off road adventuring! Can anyone suggest some must see do and go's, the definately dont's, and everything in between!

We have a 2010 prado and some limited 4x4 experience, but over the next while we will be improving on our knowledge and also faith in our car! At this stage, unsure if we will be tenting or if funds allow, I'd like to get my hands on a good camper.... but we'll have to wait and see!

Any feed back would be much appreciated!

With thanks,

Sherryl.

Hi Sherryl

You may like to check out my blogs for 2008 and 2009. The roads you will mostly be choosing are not difficult and see a lot of traffic - unless you choose the desert Beadell tracks such as the Gary Highway, Gunbarrell and Kidson (Wapet) tracks, or the Canning Stock Route. Lots of blogs about those here too. Mick O has plenty :O

Sherryl,

If you're going to be in the Kununurra area, worthwhile going up to the Ord River Dam, great views up there.

Slip over the border and have a couple of nights at Keep River Nat park. More magic scenery, and even a few "mini" Bungle Bungles type hills, if you know where to look.

Reckon Wyndham port would be good for a visit, but the 6 Mile isn't much. Think there's a lookout there where you can look over the Pentecost, and other rivers.5 Rivers Lookout???

Bob.

Seen it all, Done it all.
Can't remember most of it.

Hi Sherryl, we live in Kalgoorlie as well and did a similar trip a few years back. Happy to meet for a coffee or beer and talk to you over some maps etc if you like.

Alternatively the Eastern Goldfields 4WD club meets on 1st & 3 Tues each month at the Kalgoorlie Country Club in Egan St.

Hi Sherryl,

Lots of info in this website here

You probably wont have time to see it all but you will get a good taste of a wonderful place.

Cheers,

Val
