4.8 patrol

Thinking about replacing the school bus (1993 gq 4.2 efi) with a 4.8 Patrol my buget is $25,000 to maybe $32,000 What I would like is a manual Ti or am I dreaming .Im looking in the early 2000 .I will be using it for outback travel as Ive used the 4.2.The trucks that Ive looked at have around 250,000kms on them.Is this a high kms for this model? Thanks Uppy

Just flogged one for 20 Michael - and then was driving past near our place the other day and noticed a 2007 auto Ti like my 2010 model , it had a bull bar and so I stopped and knocked on the door to ask a question - no word of a lie , out comes this women , apologizes for taking time to answer the doorbell - next minute she is telling me her husband passed away recently and she getting rid of the car , anyway I'm getting a story I really didn't bargain on but after a while she says shes probably going to give it back to the finance company for the $29k left on it.

Lifes a lot of fun , for the hell of it I just drove around to see how she fared and some things had changed , its an STL L=luxury and price had gone up to
it has only $92k on it though.

For Uppy - the Ti only came in autos.

Nissan stopped making manual 4800 Patrols by 2006

Hello Uppy

I had 2 4800 Patrols , 1 manual 2002 with 250,000 on it and 1 2011 auto 4800.

Kept the auto - because there was no new manual replacement.
Hard descision as we go on long harder trips and auto uses more fuel.

250,000 is not a lot on these cars as they have very strong relatively simple straight six engines with lots of torque - more than their v8 rivals.

Mine never did use any oil or had other issues , even plugs only get changed every 100,000.

Valve adjustment is a pain , but I monitored mine and at 250,000 a couple were slightly loose but acceptable.
Its something I would check - I.E. check for excessive noise on startup preferrably when cold.

The drive train on all Patrols is straightforward and easy to live with.

I replaced the clutch at some 225,000 - didn't have to but it ,like brakes and even starter motors and batteries are things that do wear.

Hi Michael
She backed of from that price when I saw her last night , but if I didn't already have one I reckon I could strike a deal.
