Hello Uppy
I had 2 4800 Patrols , 1 manual 2002 with 250,000 on it and 1 2011 auto 4800.
Kept the auto - because there was no new manual replacement.
Hard descision as we go on long harder trips and auto uses more fuel.
250,000 is not a lot on these cars as they have very strong relatively simple straight six engines with lots of torque - more than their v8 rivals.
Mine never did use any oil or had other issues , even plugs only get changed every 100,000.
Valve adjustment is a pain , but I monitored mine and at 250,000 a couple were slightly loose but acceptable.
Its something I would check - I.E. check for excessive noise on startup preferrably when cold.
The drive train on all Patrols is straightforward and easy to live with.
I replaced the clutch at some 225,000 - didn't have to but it ,like brakes and even starter motors and batteries are things that do wear.
Hi Michael
She backed of from that price when I saw her last night , but if I didn't already have one I reckon I could strike a deal.
