Hi All

I'm considering replacing 2x105amp Lifeline batteries with 105amp Deka Seamates in the camper trailer and was wondering if they are suitable for running fridges etc.. as a deep cycle battery. My reason for asking is they are listed as a duel battery, i.e cranking and deep cycle. Not sure if I would be better of staying with a straight deep cycle battery. Any advice appreciated thanks. Also has anyone else used the Seamate in this application.

Cheers Dave

Dave, I'm not familiar with the brand but I use a hybrid AGM under the bonnet as a back-up for the main cranker. It is a deep cycle but can deliver much higher Cold Cranking Amps than a standard AGM. It is used to start the vehicle in the event of the main battery collapsing and or support the main via a switched solenoid at times of high need such as extended winching. I'm sure the Deka would be suitable for accessories but again, it would depend on your specific needs. I'd probably suggest a couple of purpose specific AGM's would be best for a camper trailer where they are used specifically for accessories such as fridges, lighting and/or an inverter etc.

Cheers Mick
