Hi all,

Just got approval to order a charcoal prado from the "department of ear and finance" and am keen on the arb delux colour coded bullbar.

If anybody has any pics with this combo it would be greatly appreciated.

Are you going to travel up north in it or use it on hot days? cos the charcoal colur is HOT, some even want Black for some unfathomable reason.

Everyday driving.
Charcoal, hard to see coming out of shadows on road, blends in with road surface colour, hard to see in fog/mist and can blend in with the colour of heavy vehicles so the other road users can't see you as well. In twilight conditions people will begin to see your park lights before they see the vehcile and that is too close at 100kmh for you and the oncoming also at 100kmh.

Sorry, but I think looks are not the most important item to consider having taught traffic safety and worked part time for a wrecker with lots of dark cars in the yard.
Just an observation with dark cars.

Quite frankly, I am surprised that the insurance companies don't charge a higher premium for cars with hard-to-see colours.

Not forgetting drivers over 60 and once or twice a year caravanner!

We have a charcoal coloured 4x4 but we always travel with our lights on..... It doesn't have to be a dark vehicle not to see it, we do a lot of interstate driving and the difference with lights on and off for any coloured vehicle is amazing.

But yes dark vehicles are harder to see.

If drivers over 60 are an insurance problem, how come the insurance companies charge a premium for drivers under 25?

Charcoal is not a 150series colour - maybe ebony or graphite?.
Browse though the carsales.com.au pages:
here's a Sahara bar followed by a deluxe bar:

We have a Graphite 150 with colour coded ARB delux bar..... see if I can figure out how to post photos....

Anyway we like our car and dont find the heat to be any more of an issue than it is in my silver territory.
