Hi All,
We are looking at travelling around the high country in January in an L/C80 towing a Jayco
Penguin Outback with an articulated hitch. We will be going to
places like McKillops bridge in the northern end, maybe at
the junction of Little River and
Snowy River, Bently's Plains and
Moscow Villa Hut, then south to Bairnsdale.
There will be two other L/C's one with a winch and the other towing a T-Van.
Never having been to this part of the country, the question arises: How suitable are these areas for camper trailers/caravans?

Hi,
We did Moscow Villa, Bently Plains and then through to McKillops Bridge over the
Melbourne Cup long weekend. Every where we travelled were gravel roads, mainly logging tracks, so your camper would be fine. If you wish to venture further offroad, maybe day trips from the
camp would suit.
My only warning would be McKillops Bridge, from their back towards
Buchan was very steep, narrow and winding, but still a gravel road. I would expect with caution it would be fine. Only issues may be oncoming vehicles.
We didn't go the the Little River,
Snowy River junction, don't really know where that is!!
Its a great area so enjoy yourselves.
Andrew

Hi Mike,
McKillops Bridge is one of my all time favourite
places . . . but . . . I would'nt even contemplate the thought of driving in or out from the south/west with a camper. We did the trip last time in a SWB Vitara and it was one of the most terrifying drives that I've done."Live today as if there may be no tomorrow"
