Hi every me just after some advice, we are looking at doing a trip from Newcastle to Wollemi national park. Can anyone recommend a route to take or places that should be seen. We wanted to cut across from the putty but I think the tracks have been locked off. Any recomendations would be great.

Yes no through access any more, the closest you can get is to come down the western side of the range to Rylestone and then cut back in to the park, nice campspot at Dunn's swamp

Agree Dunn's Swamp is a great place but very busy during weekends and I guess school Holidays.

The bylong valley way skirts around it Between Bylong and Rlystone their is and interesting detour to the left, and the name escapes me. But its after you do the big climb out of the valley heading south.
