Jules we did this a few years back in a petrol FJ40. Prob the same (2F) or similar (3F)engine as in your FJ60. We had the standard 80 litre tank plus a long range 80 litre tank and we carried 40 litres in jerry cans. We used just on 100 litres from Mt Dare to Bville crossing the via rig road. Depending upon driving style and route ete you would need at least 140 litres to be safe. Have a great trip it is a wonderful part of Oz.

I used 90 L in a troopcarrier 4.2L diesel. Petrol probably 1.3 x this amount. I carried 200 litres though...
Top trip, enjoy the camels...
