Comment: Mount Stirling

On our first visit, we stayed at the free camping ground at Carters Road camping ground - area surrounded by trees with a fireplace and 2 pit toilets - room for about 10 campers. After we set up, had a short walk to the day visitor area which has a number of picnic tables and camp cooking areas beside the Delatite River which would be refreshing when hot, not at the time we were there. Carters Road will take you up to Buttercup Road or travel back to Mansfield-Mt Buller Road to explore the Mt Stirling area. Would recommend the camp ground.
