Review: Calliope River Rest Area - QLD

One of the best FREE ROADSIDE STOPS in QLD. It is about 1km from the Bruce Hwy so roadnoise is almost nil. Has toilets but no showers. Large grassy area for camping along the river. Grey nomads frequent this stop all through winter, so it can get busy this time of year so you will have to pull in early to secure river frontage. Summer time you will often be one of only a couple of camps in a 5 acre radius.
