When travelling on a trip over east from Bunbury area have always used the Collie, Wagin , Lake Grace , Lake King , Esperance route to Norseman ( twice have used the gravel road between Lake King to 60 ks south of Norseman , road ok except for vehicle filling with dust )
Looked at the map without knowing road conditions but Collie, Wagin ,Katanning, Gnowangerup , Ongerup , Jeramungup road looks about the same distance ??
Anyone have some knowledge of this way please ?

Brian,

Both routes are good quality sealed roads, through Gwowangerup and Jerramungup is probably a little easier on the eye but my maps say through Lake Grace is 25 km shorter. Enjoy your travels.

Hi Brian,

We live in Gnowangerup so were probably biased but the Collie, Wagin, Katanning, Gnowangerup, Ongerup, Jeramungup route is much more scenic. Once you get in the Gnowangerup Shire you can see the majestic Stirling Ranges which extend for over 40Kms. The roads are all good quality bitumin and the extra 25Kms is more than made up for by the views of the Stirling Ranges.

Have a great trip!

Les
