I have a 07/2000 GUII in 3.O L manual specs. I have experienced a loss in power most noticably under load (say travelling uphill) where revs will not unreasonably fall to about 2900 rpm. At about 2900 rpm, I lose power, revs drop to about 2600 rpm where power returns. It is not apparent every time through this rev range.
I have had Nissan attempt to diagnose the problem a number of times. The EGR valve has been replaced however I am still experiencing the problem. The current Nissan suggested fix is an overhaul of the injector pump.
Has anyone similiar experience or fix for this power issue.
thanks in advance
regards

Lots of people have had the problem.
The ECU is what has fixed 99% of them....
try Patrol 4wd List
more people there with them.
Also read the thread about 4 below this....

Hi Truckster,
I had not found any posts specifically related to the rpm drop on the Patrol list. I'll trawl again.
Nissan orginally claimed that the ECU was at fault however after follow up diagnostic testing have changed their minds. I'll pursue this further with them as the offer to fix the problem (overhaul the injector pump) now the vehicle is outside warranty includes me paying $800 even though the problem was reported and acknowledged by Nissan during the warranty period.
Thanks

Lots of the early technical posts were lost when Yahoo put a capping on size of groups.
Roly, Ari, just to name a couple... Ari was testing the updated one for Nissan for a while.
Its a 0 second to swap it out you would think they would just do it
the Air Flow Sensor is another issue with them, but no warranty and $1200+!!

Hi there,
I have a 2001 model. I've had a computer and airflow meter replaced.
What finally sorted the problem out on my truck was the replacement of the Intercooler, as when it was pressure-tested it was loosing about 25% of it's air pressure from cracks that developed in the lower
tank and around the seals.
EGR valve solves nothing. It will only do what the computer tells it too.
Regards,
Chris Ford.

We had the loss of power problem and bad fuel consumption Nissan thought it was the ECU turned out to be the turbo, they replaced it under warranty it has fixed the loss of power problem but does not seem to have fixed the fuel consumption problem will be taking it back to Nissan in the new year.
