Hello All,
Just got back from a trip to
Mildura. For anyone going there or passing through, the diesel price ranges from 94 - 97 cents per litre, EXCEPT at the
IGA Supermarket in town. Its on the main drag through the city and has diesel at 86.9 cents per litre, (they do the 4 cent thing as
well for anyone shopping there). The car
park has shade sails to keep the 4B cool while shopping and I was told the diesel comes from the same supplier as a brand-name station, so no problems with funny-diesel.

There would have to be a reason its cheaper, 94-97 V 82 with shopper docket? The others would close their doors in days if they kept that up for more than a week!

Here in NSW the
IGA chain give you 4 cents per litre on ANY fuel docket if you take it into the store. Offer only available Fridays, however. They also give you a free loaf of
IGA bread.
What some smart cookies do is
shop at Wollies or Coles, get the 4 cents off from that deal, and take that fuel docket to
IGA and get another 4 cents/litre .. which (I think) comes off your shopping bill.
IGA don't care as they calculate it on litres, not any discount you may have previously received. So there is a total of 8 cents per litre on offer.
I have not tried it personally, but have a couple of friends who spend most of their lives shopping around for fuel. Me, I prefer to support the guy who
services my 80 series, as he does enough favours for me to cop the rise and fall in fuel prices.

HI all, the double dip on fuel dockets would'nt work here in S.A, as coles servos keep the docket once you claimed it, unless I'ved misunderstood what Jack was saying.

Hi Ralph:
The deal in NSW for the "double dip" is that you take the receipt from your fuel purchase to
IGA and present it at the checkout, and they calculate (@ 4 cents/litre) your discount. But it is only available on Fridays (including the free loaf of
IGA BREAD )
I think
IGA missed the boat with the fuel discounting war here, in that they were unable to tie in a single retail petrol outlet, so they decided to let all dockets becOme valid for the deal.
I guess it is a "market share" argument - the more people they get in the better off they are, and 4 cents/litre is a cheap way of going about it.
