We spent 5 days in October on Fraser.... did lots of driving, including two of the inland tracks, the Orchid beach to Wathumba Creek Road, and the Eastern beach. Our tyres are Pro Comp Muddies 33" X 12.5" and were run at 22 psi. My philosophy was to start at 22 and see how we go from there, but I didn't have to worry about tyre pressures at all! In 5 days we did 350 k's and didn't get bogged once!
It's also a lot to do with gearing... we kept our Patrol in low range for inland tracks/beach accesses etc... and changed back to high range for the firm sand on the beach.
Maybe start with 25psi and see how it goes from there.... and have a great trip! Fraser Island is a beautiful place, we are going over for the annual QAFDC clean up Fraser weekend in January.... can't wait!
Just my opinion
Cheers

I'd start around 20. and go from there

If you are coming onto the island from Inskip, then you may find that you need much lower just to get onto the barge.

I regulalry run around Fraser on 15psi, and do not have any problems.

The beach at Inskip CAN be very bad this time of year, it is all a combination of tides, rain, wind and TRAFFIC.

Have fun

Trial and error..
As others have said 20 is good, but depends on conditions, weather etc.

Remember if you get stuck, you can always go down to 15 then 12....

just a vote for Dave's advice, once you leave the bitumen a lot of people get bogged on the 100m between the bitumen and the ferry TO fraser island. very emabarrassing, its happened to me. Of course you think to let down your tyres on the barge cause its fraser island that is the difficult one hey, not. so yeah, let them down at the entry to inskip (of course as dave said conditions can change dramatically, i have seen inskip flat as a road and the next day more like a whipped up ocean with people bogged left right and centre).

Another vote for Dave here... and one for Paul as well.. that stretch of sand between Inskip and the Barge will eat you up!!!! If tides are with you, the north access from rainbow Beach is much easier and provides a pleasant run up to Inskip.... just be careful of the campers on the beach up there!
Cheers

G'day rob, I must be behind the times with tyres and tyre pressures, whenever I'm on any loose sanded beach I drop down to 10 psi if you've got yourself an inboard compressor there are no worries. I remember back in '91' the beach was very chopped up and any pressure higher than 10 would leave you stranded. Christmasses at Mungo Brush back in the 80's were the same, beaches all chopped up from the traffic, stocktan beach is the same.
Just be careful and don't panic, you can run on tar for a fare way just be steady
