The access Road is clearly defined and easy to locate. It is rough, corrugated with areas of erosion.
Camping is poor at
the crater and better sites are to be found at the turn off with the Gary around
Whau Whau Well. Gather firewood along the way if you intend to stay here. Mick O - June 2010
