I have noticed the rear springs in the 60 Series sag quite badly when the car is fully loaded. I don't think they're the standard springs. SHould I get them re tempered or just replace them all together? Is re-tempering a long term solution or does it just mean they'll be good for a year or two then sag all over again?
Cheers,
Justin

Justin,

I had mine reset with an extra leaf for the extra load carrying capability but have found them to be very stiff. Quite often they do sag again so it's best to go new and especially if you plan to keep the car for a bit. A friend who has the same vehicle as myself bought new springs and the difference in performance and ride is like chalk and cheese........Leroy

Justin I have had a 83 60 and now updated to a 85 60 and had a set of OME springs and shocks all round. The same set on both trucks.

We have done about 250,000 on the above set and to date no problems.
I went down the path of resetting etc and with in 18 months changed over to the OME gear. I learnt the hard way should have forked out the money on the ome the first time. The reset etc cost about a grand. And threw it out at the dump after the change over.

All the best
Eric

Justin I got Dobinsons 60 series springs on the rear of my 73 series(normal) and are quite happy with them.If you shop around you can get the rear leaves for under $400 a pair inc GST for normal duty with double wrap.
As the others mentioned ,resetting is fairly hit and miss.
