Hi guys
Was reading the Haynes manual and 1-14 indicate something about the auto gear box transmission fluid being cooled by the engine cooling system. Is that true?
Cheers

There is usually tanks in the radiator on the ends, that the auto fluid goes thru, that and sometimes there is an extra oil cooler infront of the radiator...

Have a look for 2 steel lines on the fan side of the radiator, down low usually, one each side.. they should go back to the gearbox.

They are there Wil, in the bottom tank of the rad aswell as the air cooler infront.
Not so evident is the motor oil cooler in the motor block under the exhaust manifold, that passes engine oil through the coolant in the block.
Everything relies on the radiator to cool things down when running, or in the instance of the auto and motor oil, it actually assists in warming things up faster from cold.

Hi Andrew
Thanks for detail description. I guess that's why we pay so much for some good engineering on 4x4s.
Was thinking of putting in a Transmission oil cooler for towing improvement. Don't need now. :)
