Can anyone tell me where to buy decent dune flags and mounting brackets these days? You know the sort 2-3 metres tall with a flouro red flag & perhaps a flexi or quick release base. Or perhaps a good design which I can copy...........
Thanks in advance.

Used them at Robe without problems.

Glen,
If you want posh, ARB do a telescopic one that shortens back down to antenna height for the trip home. I got one from a mine site sale for $20 even has a little light in the top for night driving, buggered if I know what I'm gong to do if the globe goes I can't get it apart. Keep the shiny side up

Hi Martyn, Was the mine site sale in Perth ie Ross's auctions or Smith Broughton or was it a "on location" thing.

Regards

Chrisfrd,
The beach shot was taken atop one of the many sand dunes in Lancelin.

Mark,
A mate / work collegue of mine went to the sale, might of been over the net I'm not exactly sure, I bought it off him he bought them as a job lot of about 20 of them and then he sold them off individually to people like me, some where in better nick than others. Keep the shiny side up

Thrifty in MAckay, Qld, distribute flags for the mine sites. They have 6 or 8 different models some of which are 2 peice and come with a protective bag for storage.

Protector Safety also have them but I think the are a bit pricey. But then again everything is pricey in Mackay..

Hi Glenn

We have used orange electrical conduit with a flag cut out of material fixed to the top. Really cheap and effective...so far! Welded up a piece of pipe onto a flat section with a centre bolt and mount to antenna bracket on bull bar. Place the conduit inside the pipe. The conduit can also be joined using the end which sleeves otherwise leep in one section and tie to packrack. 100mph tape keeps everything attached. Benefit with this system is that it is really flexible and will not break under low overhanging trees such as on Goog's track. Fishing rods tend not to afford the same degree of flexibility.

drive round the suburbs until you find a patch of bamboo in someones yard, borrow an appropriately sized piece and tie a red rag/flag to the top. Can be tied or clamped to the bullbar and burnt in the fire when you've finished with it.
