I lived in Mary Kathleen in the second operation and went to school there and married my childhood sweetheart who was born there in the hospital and his parents both lived in tents when they arrived, my husband was also the first to receive an apprentiship there and our daughter was christened in the uniting church there before the closure and was the first granchild born. My husband and 3mth old daughter left Mary Kathleen in Dec 1982 and my husband and I have such fond memories
