Isa Nomads
Hi all. We plan to stay at Pottsville South Caravan Park in May this year for a week. Have seen some adverse comments re the park on Trip advisor.
Young locals frequenting park, binge drinking, Stealing from Vans, etc mentioned. Would like your comments please re your stay at the Park and the area in general. Cleanliness of park would be another priority for us.
Thanks

G,day Isa Nomads,I live at Pottsville & have heard similar.I lived in the park for a month or so while I was waiting to purchase a house. No trouble at all.It gets very busy over
Easter & long weekends but no dramas.
I was up there this morning, checking out the beach etc & the park was only about half full.It is a nice area & I think you will find amenities etc
well maintained.The park is
well fenced from the street & I feel you would enjoy your stay.Regards,Mick.

Hi Isa Nomads. Great spot - have stayed there a couple of times - last in Feb this year - with no problems.
Well maintained fenced grassed park with good amenities, BBQs and excellent
camp kitchen. Good fishing in the creek or the surf.
Boat ramp near by. Small community feel about the town with all
services available within walking distance.
Cheers, Mike

There was a problem there over January school holidays.
A bit of drama until the group involved picked on a kickboxer.
End of problem.
We stay at the Pottsville North park each January and it is good.
The South park is on the river .
Great town.

I live in the area and would recommend the caravan park at Hastings Point which is about 5km north of Pottsville. Beautiful outlook and smaller park than Pottsville South park. From Hastings you can either go to Pottsville or Cabarita to pick up supplies - both are not far away. You are also closer to Kingscliff which is a bigger town and has a Woolworths Supermarket there. There is a council run caravan park at Hastings Point which is the one I'm recommending and there is also a Big 4 - North Star Holiday Park, which people rave about but I personally prefer the other park in Hastings.

Just spent the last 2 weeks before easter at Pottsville SOUTH Caraanpark.
It is on Cudera Creek and we are going back again, and will recommend the Park to anyone. Very nice.

Every park has its moments, some more frequently than others. Most of these occur in the Christmas holidays, you are going in May. We have stayed in the north park and not heard of any problems in either.

Just looked up Badgers CP Reports and it gives North Pottsville a poor recommendationa and South P'ville gets a positive report.

That's not the park condition I have known, Been there half a dozen times. We were there last in Sept 2010. It's a funny sort of report they run it down but still give it a rating of 3. Looks like they had a dummy spit because they had trouble gettin their 5th wheeler in.
The parks are both council built and of similar construction. The south one is beside the water and gets the surfy type, The north one seems to get the family groups.
