Good morning, have just got a new laptop computer, went to load Hema GDT maps and they wouldn't load, not 64 bit comptable, any way around this or do I have to buy new maps? Thanks in advance.

Hi John,

I have loaded the HEMA maps (including GDT) on both my laptop and netbook. Both these are using 64-bit Windows 7. I have no problems using these maps in OziExplorer, or the OziLite app that came with the maps on the disk.

What operating system / computer are you using?
What is the error message that you receive?
Are you using the Ozi version of the maps or the Memory-Map?

I am running a number of 32-bit applications on these laptops, as well as the 16-bit Toyoto workshop manual for the 200 series on the little netbook without problem, so I can see no reason why the maps would not work.

Cheers,
Christelle

Christelle, running Win7 on a ASUS Zen book, error message was, "the program or feature ******* can not start or run due to incomapatability with 64 bit versions of Windows. Please contact the software vendor to ask if a 64 bit Windows compatible version is available."

Thanks for your reply. John

John,

It appears that the viewer application that was included with GDT Release 1 may have some problems with the newer operating systems. There are a few things you can try:

- If the maps installed, but you get the error message when trying to run the viewer application, you can try to run the application in "Compatibilty Mode" - see the instructions on this website:

Windows Compatibility Mode

- The maps do not install, you can install the Trial version of OziExplorer, and copy the .map and .ecw or .ozf files from the HEMA CD or DVD into the C:\OziExplorer\Maps folder. You can then view / use the maps as normally; the trial version of OziExplorer will shut down after an hour, but you can just restart it.

I hope that helps...

Cheers,
Christelle

Oops,

Forgot to add the link with the full instructions for making Release 1 work with Ozi - the trial version will work the same if you do not have a licensed copy of OziExplorer.

G'day John,

we have recently upgraded to Win 7 from XP when we got our new laptop. With the new machine, I downloaded the latest version of Ozi from the Ozi website, set it up with the same registration number from my earlier purchased version and it was up and running. I copied the data and map files from the old machine (which included Hema's 4WD collection) to the new, keeping the same file structure, and all worked well.

Hope you get it sorted - its a great program

Cheers
