Terrible place

We have just spent a weekend at Goomburra Valley Campgrounds and it was the worst camping experience of our camping history. The manager was rude, obnoxious and in our face all the time. We were celebrating a 30th birthday with the "rules" being music off at 10 and we could sit around the campfire talking all night if desired. He came down to the campfire at one stage yelling abuse at us and an hour later 3 police came. They laughed because it was so quiet. Because of our "bad" behaviour he refused to cook us breakfast which was prearranged and paid for. Several campers came to us next day and stated how quiet we were and couldn't believe his action. Several families with young children had to pack quickly because they bought no food with them. He lingered behind trees and buildings the entire time listening to conversations. THe was very unfriendly even when we arrived. Why they agreed to have a party there I do not know. We were refunded $5.00 each for breakfast. It is a terrible terrible place and please do not put yourself through the torment of spending a weekend there.

You are not the first to complain about that place. You should have driven a couple km's down the road and camped at Gordon Country. We have always had a great time there and keep going back. It's such a shame that people like that can spoil your trip and make it unpleasant. If they keep going sooner or later they will have to close their doors.

Have been to Gordons Country and loved it. The only reason we chose Goomburra Valley was because they catered (or supposed to) for dinner and breakfast. Never again though. Since returning I have read lots of bad reviews. Lets hope they remove them from Qld tourism.

At a guess it's 30km's outside of Warwick QLD right in the Goomburra national park

The location is beautiful and the park good. It's such a shame management is like it is. And Troll 81 is spot on with the location.

Not far from our place. Never been and probably wont now either. We delivered the toilet block about ten years ago. Bogged the tilt doing so.

Does this bloke own the park or is he just the caretaker? Either way, perhaps a link to the bad feed back he gets should be emailed to him, might be a bit of a wake up call, cheers, Dave.

I presume he owns it. Surely if he was only caretaking he would be gone by now. Good idea about the link. I'll give it a go.

Now I dont usually get into these posts but going by there face book page, maybe not is all as described on here ?? We have friends that run a motel and there is nothing worse then people jumping onto the web an bagging some ones business putting it at risk of getting bad publicity, here is the link....

Sue the replys are down the left hand side of the page. This is the main one which Im presuming was your group ??

To the 30th birthday crowd- Despite all your assurances that you weren't a "rowdy party crowd", you were. The foul language, the vomiting, the fellow urinating in broad daylight at the door to the camp kitchen are just some examples of the bad behaviour displayed over the weekend. The people in your group were loud, abusive to Andy and showed no respect for any one else in the campground that night.
I know that we can't make everyone happy but with over 4000 visitors a year we must be doing some thing right some of the time!!

Im not taking sides here but theres quit a bit of difference to the two storys...

I know there are two sides to every story. I would not bag a business without cause. We could have resolved this issue on the Sunday morning if management was willing to come and talk to us instead of being totally unreasonable. We were unaware of any of this "bad" behaviour until we read it on facebook so they are not doing our reputation any good either.
