Its probably not as bad as it looks, the degradation mots likley is only on the surface.

If you do want to replace it I understand you replace the whole block yoke and swivel pin as an assembly.

As I understamd it you drive the rolled locking pin out of the securing nut, undoo the nut and withdraw the assembly.......replacement is the reverse, you may need to drill a new hole in the new pin and replace the rolled pin.

If in any doubt ring Treg on 08 8352 5177

cheers

Carl, for the best fix I would get rid of the Trigg and replace it with a DO 35 hitch from Vehicle Components. Especially on a van with higher tow ball weight, they are just so much easier to hook up with.
By the way how is the new BT 50? Have you done much towing and if so what sort of economy are you getting? thanks

Couldn't agree more Bruce. Great time to upgrade.

I would never use a Trigg/tregg again after the DO35. It is a ton easier.

Mine started to lose chunks, so I replaced it with a Hyland hitch, everything is much easier now I can slide it onto a 50mm ball, instead of trying to line up that damn pin all the time.

Hi Carl,
OzHitch have a conversion for Treg and AT35 hitches to their style of easy alignment hitch. Works out not much more than half price of the complete assembly.
I am thinking of upgrading my AT35 to an OzHitch for this very reason.
