I am looking at late model tritons to buy at the moment. I have heard the 98-99 model have gear box problems is this true? And have they rectified this problem in the 00-03 models. Any help would be great.

Cheers

When i first started to look at tritons i was told the same by a dealer. But my mate has a 92 triton and said hes had no trouble. The only thing that i was concerned about was the noisey thrust bearing. But every triton ive been told new and old have it. Ive got a 99 gls and apart from a rear main seal leak ive had bugger all problems with it. The only thing id do again is get an nrma inspection it may have picked up the rear main seal leak.
