Thinking of travelling with 4wheel drive and camper trailer from Port Augusta north to Marree then across to William Creek maybe up to Oodnadatta then Marla and south again in late July. Is this a bad idea at this time of year? Would appreciate some advise please.

Hi Andoria

I personally think that is the best time of the year for that area. Be prepared for very cold nights if there is no cloud cover, but perfect days. If for some reason it is wet, then keep away from the area as the roads will be very sticky and if wet enough, they will close the road.

Cheers
