Off in a couple of weeks from
Brisbane to NT.
4 vehicles, experienced outback travellers.
We're thinking of going from Mt Isa down to the Sandover and up through the Davenport Ranges.
Has anyone any recent knowledge of road conditions in that area please.
Thanks all.

Hi Lex, we have just returned from a journey along the Binns Track ending on the Barkley but part was along the Sandover. We found the road to be very, very good with recent grading having taken place. There were a few washout areas along the sides, so just keep a watch out. The Binns through Davenport Ranges was certainly enjoyable, however 4wd definitely at some of the creek crossings and exposed
rock roads. The first track into
Old Police Station waterhole is completely grown over, but the second track is extremely
well maintained and is an excellent place to rest over for a day. Enjoy it. Jan
