Is it worth getting a parks pass early?

We are heading off on our trip in 4wks, just wondering is it worth getting the desert parks pass prior? I have read that it comes with alot of info so just wondering would this info be useful before we leave etc.
Your opinions please.

Yes Katie it is definently worth getting early due to the maps and information the pack contains.
The only reason I can see not to get it early is if you intend to fit in another trip next year before the pass expires, this would save having to purchase another pass.

The Desert Parks pass is not just a pass it is a pack with maps and lots of very interesting and useful information on the history, flora and fauna of the area. So it will provide you with everything and allow you to better plan and prepare for your crossing. As
well you don't need to purchase any other maps as the pack contains very good ones
