Hi all,
I have found a Uniden uhf model VH 089 perhaps which appears not to have been used (no marks on attatchment cradle warranty papers still in box) in a pawn shop for $175. Is this a good buy quality and price wise? ie is the radio a good'n and what are they new. I found it at close of business today and havn't been able to check. It has antenna and mike and attatchment bits etc included.
Thanks,
Camper

Yeah.. It should be OK.

MAKE SURE that it's not stolen! Get a full reciept and get Uniden Service Dept to check the serial numbers.

About 6 months ago, Strathfield in Canberra got nocked off. About $25K of stuff was taken, including UHF radios. As Strath's stock is not "sold" to it until the client pays for it (like most supermarkets and such) it ended up being the suppliers problems. This stuff has probably been distributed around the countryside by now, so it's likely that it could be in your part of the world.

If that pawn shop is Crime Converters, then you are always in for a suprise!

Try to get more moolah off it though. VH89's are retailing for about $250-$270 if you shop around. Their RRP is $360.

Chris.
