Gday,
Has any one recently had an alternator replaced on one of these? How much did it cost?
A mate of
mine just picked his car up form the Auto elec after having duel batteries fitted and got told his alternator is over charging and will cost around $4000to replace!
Could this be right?
Any advice would be appreciated as the poor old bugger is supposed to be going on holidays Saturday and is stressing!!!!

Problem solved.........He went back and spoke to the auto elec........The story goes, a bloke come in a while ago with an overcharging alternator who failed to fix it. It ended up costing him $4000 after the damage it caused. His wont cost anything like that as he now thinks its just a diode.....Someone had there wires crossed somewhere. LOL

Hairy! Ebay have new aftermarket units for $400 plus he may need a new auto tensioner/adjuster, they are worth...
well cost around $300.. Fitting should be at 1 hour for a mechanic!! Michael
